The Parrot News Online will this coming Friday, August 7, 2020, launch electability and governance performance surveys across the country beginning with Grand Bassa, Bong and Nimba counties. The intend of the surveys is to first know who are the leading and favourable would-be candidates in Liberia’s fifteen geographical subdivisions in the upcoming senatorial by-elections, and lastly to establish how effective government’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Development and Prosperity is present in the lives of the ordinary people in the rural areas of Liberia.
The surveys will be led by our Associate Managing Editor, Julius T. Jaesen II who is an outstanding researcher on democratic governance across Sub-Saharan Africa.
This week Friday, Mr. Jaesen will be in Buchanan, Grand Bassa to lead our initiative in that part of the country up to Sunday, and will return home late Sunday evening. The following week will be Bong County follow by Nimba. At the end of the survey in each county, the Parrot will release its electability and governance performance survey report on how our people in these counties think and feel about the quality of services delivered by their government, and as well the leading candidates in each county in the upcoming mid-term elections that are potential winners to get the confidence of the voters on December 8, 2020 polls.
