I Can Hear Liberians Crying in Bondage Under George Weah

Already encumbered by the depressing and bruising consequences of historical debauchery, Liberians continue to be afflicted by perennial misery, pains, illusion and brazen contradictions. Their homeland, Liberia, no doubt perfectly manifests the roller coaster hypothesis— from one bad epoch of misrule to another. Nothing has fundamentally changed since the repressive and rogue True Whig Party (TWP) hegemony was stunningly deposed from power after 133 years of untold bigotry and class caste.

Liberians still cannot find fate in the place they call home. They continue to be sore victims of the barbarous misrule. The time has never been urgent and defining for Liberian patriots and revolutionaries to close ranks in a rallying national struggle to redeem and reclaim their country from this revolving bondage and for once give a sense of human decency and economic dignity to its peasant poor masses.

What is even frustrating and depressing is the fact that Liberia is even plunged in a deeper morass at a time the people thought the country would be far better and the resources of their country would be used to better their shattered lives. They thought so because they believed that Liberia’s current President George Weah, who rose to fame and power from an underprivileged background as an ordinary Liberian chap truly love the country and knows the plight of the sprawling poor masses and their squalor shanty communities. And with such man who has experienced extreme poverty, starving hunger, diseases and other socio-economic difficulties caused by bad governance, being at the helm, the ordinary Liberians would have potentially experienced an ultimate shift in the socio-economic and political dynamics of the country but with almost three years in power things have even moved from bad to worse and Weah has markedly let the Liberian masses down in a manner many cannot imagine nor fathom. Liberians are enduring unbridled difficulties under the rule of Weah, the man who promised them economic empowerment and a glorious Liberia should they give him power. Indeed, I can hear Liberians crying in bondage under Weah.

Unfortunately and appallingly, President Weah shamefully presides over a government that is conspicuously ingrained into the “Deep-State” mentality and clearly an extension of the decadent rotten layer wherein rampant corruption, impunity, cronyism, partisanship, patronage, bigotry, class arrogance, chronic division, tribalism, regionalism, subversion and sycophancy normalized and institutionalized within the governing system of the state. Weah runs a complete kleptocracy, neocracy and plutocracy in Liberia with the desperate quest for ill-gotten material wealth engendering the massive looting and plundering of national resources by him (George Weah) and his band of economic vampires and unpatriotic desperados.

Under the current political rulership of Mr. Weah, Ex-Soccer blade, governance is ridiculously dismal and disdainful. The struggling and hurting Liberian masses continue to wallow in abject poverty and struggle with daily hunger. Liberians are cruelly and disconcertingly left to struggle with the fate of fending for themselves in the face of unbearable economic difficulty. Daily hustling, bustling and grinding under excruciating conditions are the only hope of survival for the masses in Liberia. Only the fittest can survive. How can the majority of our people be perpetually vanquished in bondage in a place they called home? Disgusting, obnoxious, condescending, hilarious nonsense and utter injustice. Indeed, I can hear Liberians crying in bondage under George Weah.

In light of all of these, the Liberian opposition block comes across as virtually weak and fundamentally dysfunctional—glaringly and heartbreakingly defaulting on its sacred duties to radically slam the Weah government and its rivers of idiosyncrasies. To put it bluntly, the opposition block that should be rebuking the nefarious regime of Weah with fire and fury has dashed the hope of the depressed and weary Liberian masses. They are fundamentally weak and dangling in blatant dereliction. This view is similarly being postulated by several political pundits and critical thinkers in and out of Liberia. If the opposition cannot be vocal and aggressive amid streams of glaring excesses and injustices committed by the Weah government, when will it ever be vocal? If the opposition is drowned in deafening silence in the face of flagrant and arrogant violation of the country Laws by Weah, when will it ever speak out?  If the opposite block cannot tremble and furiously resist through riots the grand looting of Liberia by Weah and ring of hustlers when it ever acts?

Despite its recently signed working framework to form a common front and float a single ticket in the much anticipated 2023 presidential election, the opposition under its Coalition of Political Parties or CPP banner is still struggling to find its rallying mojo, as  Liberians remain doubtful that the leaders will summon the courage to forge a common front and draft a singular, concerted and formidable presidential candidate who will fiercely marshall a united front against the George Weah deadly echo chamber — and defiantly crush him at the much-heralded 2023 presidential poll.

Defeating Weah in 2023 is quintessential exigent and the ultimate resolution and goal of all patriotic Liberians in 2023. It is imperative and the right thing to do and all Liberians of good conscience and love for the country must work the hardest to ensure that Weah and his parasitic gang are ousted by way of the ballot box in 2023.

From all indications, Weah and his henchmen or adherents are nothing more than a marauding plague foisted on the country and they are hurting the nation in no small way. They have done so much harm to the country just under three years—halfway in Weah six-year term. If nothing is done in the soonest to have these buzzards out of power sooner than later through the constitution predicated on the uncountable gross violation of the so many provisions of the organic law he took his oath of office to protect, uphold and defend, they could possibly sellout Liberia to foreigners.

From what we see on a daily basis, they certainly have the nerve and audacity to do so. Their avidity for overnight wealth compels to none. The scale of their incompetence is profoundly apex and impossible to stomach. They are grossly insensitive, unkind, clueless, and intractable to rule over our homeland. The country has become a classic barren under Weah’s rulership. The socioeconomic conditions of our people have worsened under him and there is absolutely no hope that he and his apologists can turn things around, as they clearly lack the vision, innovation, capacity, capability, discipline, experience, equanimity, dexterity and temperament to effectively and efficiently govern and advance the country and its struggling masses into prosperity.

George Weah is nothing more than a President of failed promises and his presidency is a savagery menace brutally plaguing the nation and its people. This madness must stop and Weah and his cabal must be shown the exit door in 2023. This is a charge to all patriots and revolutionaries of our homeland. Liberia and its people cannot continue under the rule of such a miscreant and shambolic ruling clique.

crying in bondage under George Weah. The time is now for patriots and revolutionaries to unite and redeem their homeland. And may I say more?
